National ICT Careers Week, hosted by the ACS and AIIA was officially launched by Senator the Hon Stephen Conroy, Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy on 27 July 2009 in Melbourne.

In its second year, the week features special events, activities and competitions to demonstrate to young people, parents and career advisors the dynamic career opportunities available in ICT. Over 60 events were held across the country by participating organisations.

According to Senator Conroy, "ICT professionals are an important national resource as an increasing number of everyday economic and social activities are enabled by the Internet and other network."

The ACS and AIIA would like to thank this year's participating organisations, Multimedia Victoria, NICTA, Google Australia, ACS Foundation and Penny Coulter - Chair of the Careers Week Steering Committee, for their support in the lead up to National ICT Careers Week.
